You Are Enough: A Love Letter to the Woman You Are
Hey you. Yes, you – reading this right now, maybe with your morning coffee in hand, or tucked under the covers late at night. I see you and I see your strength, your quiet courage, the way you keep going even when no one is watching. And I need you to hear this, loud and clear:
You are enough. Exactly as you are.
Seriously, you are enough right now, exactly as you are. Not when you lose five pounds or when you get that promotion. Not when you finally “have it all together.” Right now, and in this moment. With your messy bun, your tired eyes, your heart that has been bruised but still beats with purpose. I hope you don’t lose sight of that.
Let me hype you up here
You are so much more than enough. You are brilliant and you are resilient. You are kind in ways that change people’s days – maybe even their lives – and you don’t even realize it. Within your heart, you carry dreams and there is a fire in your spirit, even if life has dimmed the flame a little lately. I know it’s been hard. I know there are days when the weight of it all makes you want to curl up and hide. But here is the truth: you are not broken. You are becoming, sis. And truly, that is a powerful reframe. And might I add, it’s beautiful, too.
You don’t have to be perfect, and you certainly don’t have to have all the answers. Life is rough, I get it – you don’t have to smile through the pain or pretend you are fine when you are not. It’s okay to have your feelings about it all and I promise you, it’s okay to struggle. At the end of the day, what matters is that you keep showing up – for your dreams, for the people who love you, and most importantly, for yourself.
Honestly, there are people who love you. But there’s another relationship that deserves your care, too: the one you have with yourself. You are worthy of becoming someone you can count on, support and show compassion to. Seriously, that is one of the most important relationships of all.
Making a promise to ourselves
So today, let’s just start slowly by making a promise to ourselves. A sacred pact between you and yourself. Let’s promise to stop letting fear call the shots. And to stop letting doubt whisper lies in your ear. Let’s promise to stop comparing your behind-the-scenes to everyone else’s highlight reel. Girl, you are not behind and you are certainly not failing. The truth is that you are growing. And the fact remains that growth is not always pretty or even easy – but it is powerful.
Let’s promise to treat ourselves with the same kindness that we so freely give to others. Let’s learn to speak to ourselves like we would to our best friend. And to rest when we are tired. Let’s focus on celebrating the small wins. And to say “no” when we need to and to say “yes” to joy, to adventure, to love, and all the other amazing things that this life has to offer.
You are enough, claim it for yourself.
Girl, you are not just surviving – you are thriving, even if it doesn’t feel like it yet. Every step forward, no matter how small, is a victory, truly. And every time you find a little hope in the middle of fear or give yourself permission to keep moving forward, that matters. Let that sink in for a second.
With all that said, go ahead and take the leap. Send that email or start that project. Figure out how you’re going to have that hard conversation. Forgive yourself and love yourself. Believe in yourself and all the potential that you’ve got within you. Because you’ve absolutely got this. And I am right here cheering you on.
Now tell me – what is one thing you will do today to honor the incredible woman you are? Drop it in the comments. Let’s get back on track together, one decision at a time.
